Electronic Press Kit
A string quartet from Naples spanning original music, concerts, record productions and soundtracks.

Ondanueve String Quartet grew from the meeting of four classically trained musicians and a shared wish to explore the possibilities of the string quartet beyond its traditional boundaries. Violinists Andrea Esposito and Paolo Sasso, violist Luigi Tufano and cellist Marco Pescosolido have developed a common language spanning jazz, rock, pop, world music and folk traditions.
Across original music, concerts, record productions, soundtracks and collaborations with artists, Ondanueve carries the same ensemble sound from the stage to the studio, adding drums and percussion when the project calls for them.

Listen Tratto Da Una Storia Vera Ondanueve String Quartet was born from the friendship and shared path of four classically trained musicians: Andrea Esposito and Paolo Sasso on violin, Luigi Tufano on viola and Marco Pescosolido on cello.
From the outset, the quartet chose to explore string instruments beyond the traditional repertoire, bringing its training into dialogue with jazz, rock, pop, world music and folk traditions. This meeting created a recognisable ensemble language open to cross-pollination, arrangement and, where the project calls for it, the rhythmic contribution of drums and percussion.
Over the years, Ondanueve has developed its original repertoire through the releases Viaggio, Boundary Line and Mutazioni, alongside themed programmes and productions designed for festivals, theatres and cultural seasons.
In parallel, the quartet has worked on stage and in the studio with artists from different musical worlds and has taken part in record productions and film recordings. Its live experience includes festivals and events in Italy and abroad, as well as artistic encounters with John Cale, Amii Stewart, Eugenio Bennato, Tosca and other leading musicians.
Concerts, recordings and arrangements are therefore parts of the same path: four strings and a common language, able to adapt to different contexts without losing its identity.
